"If you get a chance to go fishing with Tron on the Secret Island you will have a great time. He is a great guy, awesome gear and boat. Chris is great to fish with as well. Thanks for the great trip!"

"What more can be said about the Secret Island operation that has not been mentioned previously. There is a reason for all the accolades, and that is, Tron and Christine run a first class Tuna Charter. Six of us went out on Monday, a first tuna trip for us all. The group included my 14-year-old Nephew, my wife, two well-seasoned fishermen and myself. Tron's instruction and patience with us all is to be commended. And it did not take long to get things going.
What a trip, one that will not soon be forgotten.
If you have not fished Tuna with live bait you don't know what you are missing. You really should give Tron a call, not only is he a great Charter Boat Captain he is one Heck of an instructor. Thanks again Tron and most of all thank you for supporting CCA."

"Tron is definitely a master of our fishery! It's awesome to talk with him and hear and discuss tactics and techniques. His bag of tricks and knowledge base is very deep!! I guess it's what we might have if we keep on this fishery for another 20 years like Tron has done!!"

"A group of us fished with Tron on the SI yesterday, and let me tell ya it was a treat. Mike put the trip together and performed deck hand duties for us (along with Chris) so we were definitely well covered. We cruised towards the corners effortlessly at 20knts, stopped short and started pounding troll fish. As soon as we would hook a troll fish Mike would run a circle around the boat sliding out swim baits and stuffing butterfly rigged rods into eager hands. After a quick on the fly tutorial on how to work the jigs the whole crew was adding to the count. Quite often Tron would come down the rail from the wheelhouse to hand off another pinned fish to whoever would take it. About 11:00 the bite started to slow, but we were seeing a decent number of puddlers so we wound up the troll rods, put a couple more swim baits out in their place and started to sneak. Mike and I stayed near the bow with butterflys while the rest of the crew dealt with the swimbait fish. I can't say enough about Tron and his boat. I got a chance to talk with him quite a bit while hanging by the wheel house waiting to fire jigs and he sure seems like a great guy. He is happy to answer questions and explain his theories and techniques. When asked about his boat you can sense the pride that he has and for good reason. This thing sparkles. It's FAST, clean and very well equipped. It has an awesome slide and a ton of room when on a stop. As captain of our boat the "Tortuga" it is not often that I get a chance to charter, but I am very glad that I did. It was a nice change of pace to let others do some of the work, learn some new tricks and fish with a great crew on a great boat."

"There is no doubt that fishing the Secret is awesome. Between the gear that Tron carries, and the gear I bring for these trips, it is just stupid. Looking at the row of Accurate Boss reels Tron has on one side, and the Shimano Trini's and others that I bring; it's like a candy store. The troll fishing is fun, but looking down the rail as guys hook up on Butterfly jigs and swim baits you start to see grins from ear to ear. Now that the livies have shown up in Little Italy, it's just one more facet cut into the diamond. When Tron and I were talking about things before the season started, days like yesterday were exactly what we had envisioned. This is taking tuna fishing to a different level, with only 6 customers on a big boat, being able to move around, getting there in style, and having different options to choose from on how to catch fish. It's only to get better from here."

We had a great time in Oregon and have now returned home and back to work. After we left Garibaldi we met up with friends who chartered another fishing boat (for tuna). They chose a good charter boat service, good captain, they caught tuna, but I have to say once the fish were caught it was two very different experiences. They fished among 12 other anglers who seemed to be more interested in drinking then fishing. They took turns 4 at a time manning the rods thereby reducing their fishing time. Once they did get their 2 tuna, the fish stayed on deck all day in plastic buckets while they made their long journey back to dock. Once back it was a long, long wait for the 1 fillet person to get to their fish, by nightfall their fish was finally on ice. I am so pleased with the care and equipment your charter service provides, our fish was so well taken care of... they were still shaking when the hit a ice bath and were so cold when we got back to the dock you could hardly pick them up. At the docks they were immediately taken in for processing in a nice clean environment and in a manner that I would expect my food to be handled.
You guys do it right. Thank you!
